LRC Collections Ltd/Land Rover Collections is the official Licensee of Land Rover and Jaguar lifestyle merchandise. Based in the UK they import products from around 15 countries and distribute to over 60 worldwide. They produce four collections per year, designing and merchandising all products from their Oxford headquarters.

The LRC business operates across three main locations with their head office based in Unipart House in Cowley, Oxford.
The problem to solve
Before implementing Extrasys, LRC were using a mixture of IT platforms. As the majority of their IT was located within Unipart House, the system had to overcome significant challenges to deliver the required service. For example they were required to conform to their host's security restrictions, resulting in duplication of information and efforts across their different offices. Other significant issues included interruptions to e-mail and availability of archive data.
The inability to access information and communications when at client or supplier locations also posed a problem.
Extrasys offered them an instant and cost-effective IT solution that met all their requirements. Extrasys centralised all of their data and applications, giving all employees secure access to their regular desktop and server environment wherever they need to work from.
The flexibility and functionality provided by Extrasys could not have been achieved without a level of IT investment normally reserved for significantly larger businesses.

The Migration - How LRC made the move to Extrasys
Extrasys implemented their standard migration process, taking a snapshot of the LRC data on the specified Friday. The data was then imported to LRC's newly created environment within the Extrasys data-centres. Upon arrival at work on the Monday, Extrasys support staff were on site to ensure all users were up and running immediately.
This method of migration meant that LRC's operation continued to run business as usual. Unipart's required security no longer affects Land Rover Collections as they can securely access Extrasys through the Unipart firewall.

A quote from Andrew McRobb, LRC Managing Director:
"I am not technical and like many, a sceptic with regards to promised IT solutions. However the Extrasys pitch sounded good and came at a time when we were poised to make a sizeable investment in computer hardware. After careful research and talking to some of their existing clients we decided the risk minimum and the potential rewards excellent.
"Our business was not disappointed. The migration could not have been easier and within 30 minutes of the training I was up and running. The full impact of this move to Extrasys could not have been imagined. It has enhanced our communications and data access, further than I had ever imagined possible.
"Two weeks after change over, I and a colleague were in Salt Lake City at a trade show and found we had all the access from our hotel that we did sitting at our desks in the office. Working from home for many of our staff is also now a reality.
"This move has changed the shape of our business for
ever.
I just wish I had discovered Extrasys years ago."
